Lake Wateree Bass Red Hot

The bass fishing on Lake Wateree is as good as it's been in years, with tournament anglers needing 25+ pounds to win many of the local Wateree tournaments.

Jigs are accounting for a lot of the bass bites at Wateree, but topwater lures like hollow-body frogs thrown in the grass are good bets too.

Brett Collins of Carolina Anglers Team Trail (www.catttrail.com) said the bass bite at Wateree has been awesome this year and he doesn't see any reason for it to slow down anytime soon.

Carolina rigs, Zara Spooks, and Rat L Traps are working well also, and good bites and big fish are coming from all sections of the lake.
