Freshwater Fishing in Sante Cooper Area

Santee Bream Fishing
The bream fishing at Santee is as hot as ever, with anglers catching limits of bluegills and shellcrackers all over the upper and lower lakes. Bluegills are biting crickets in a range of depths, anywhere from 2-12 feet deep.
Anglers are having luck with shellcrackers fishing on or near the bottom, also in a variety of depths. Nightcrawlers and red wigglers are producing well.
Other than live bait, ultralight lures are also catching both species. Once fish are located with live bait, anglers are having fun tossing beetlespins, Mepps Aglia spinners, and tiny crankbaits like Rebel Wee Frogs.
