  • Andrew Kibler Screaming at Shrimp Net
They say if you scream at it.... It will Open :) That is NOT the case. I threw the 8 foot 20# Net 6 or 7 passes last week and I can tell you that if you scream at it, nothing changes. Andrew Kibler must have some different luck. His technique seems to work for him.

Roy c. my brother an I went Georgetown first then went to Charleston Harbor shrimping. Started about 8:00 Friday night. caught about two handfuls. Bay was muddy. Went back next morning, set up again caught about a handful. Left there went to Charleston harbor, set up two different spots, caught less there. We think the shrimp were there but to small to catch in net. We could see them jumping in....  Read More

I am coming up to Folly Beach this weekend from Southwest Florida. We are staying on the back bay, don't know the name, but am looking for some education on the shrimping and crabbing. I am familiar with the crabbing, or so I think, but am curious about shrimp. No boat, just dock. Any info would be great. A longtime Marine friend of mine is bringing his family and we have 5 kids between....  Read More

Lemon Island, Cheechesee and Broad rivers, when you come out into the Cheechesee the bank after to cut to the broad seems popular. Don't leave anything interesting visible in your vehicle, we were broken in to on an over night expedition.

My friends and I have been enjoying shrimp baiting for a few years now. We have spent most of our time in the Bull's bay area. We know the area well and are comfortable getting around there. We would like to spend some time in Beaufort, but do not know anything about the area.Just looking for popular places to stay and launch the boat.

  • Shrimping as the sun hits the horizon. Charleston Harbor, Sept 2010
When that great fireball in the sky hits the water, the cast net had better be doing the same. Every report that I have heard was consistent 'COOLER FULL' and 'BULLS BAY SHRIMP' or course, not literally but they are referring to the size! 'JUMBO' I guess I had better get out the slickers and go see for myself. We fished the Grillage in the Harbor last night and saw multiple bass in the 30+ inch....  Read More

  • Captain Jamie Hough knows how to open up his cast net during shrimp season
Shrimp baiting season runs from September 10 at noon and offers a refreshing approach to being on the water, watching the sunset and working into the night to fill coolers with shrimp. It's the end of a long summer and sportsmen are reporting plenty of shrimp in the creeks, and that is what gets shrimp baiters fired up! A long season that begins on September 10 runs until noon on November 9 and....  Read More
