Looking at going hunting Dec 26-29 in SC...looking for any information...never hunted in SC but got the basics from the SC DNR...just looking for which counties have the most population...looking to stalk no stands or still hunts. Any recommendations on local guides would be appreciated...no interest in preserve hunting or high fence hunting…

9am hog shot with 12ga shotgun. Had to cut the hog in three to get it to the truck. This was a long day but wouldnt have had it any other way and wish i had a game cart or atv of such. On public land December 7th.
Hello everyone. I live in NYS and would like to come to South Carolina and hunt Hogs. I do not want to hunt with an outfitter. I am looking to hunt private lands. Would like to hunt some where near the Myrtle Beach area. I'd be willing to drive 1 - 2 hours to the property for hunting. Can anyone give me some info. When is the best time to hunt hogs. Sumter County's Chris Warren, Mikey Colboth, Sarah McClam, and KW McClam of Big Country Outdoors teamed up during Thanksgiving weekend in Lee County to do some hog hunting with dogs.
The hunting party had a good day, harvesting a 120-pound sow, then following that up with their biggest sow yet, a 338-pounder.

I went to a hog management workshop last week and the Clemson Extension agent gave a good talk, and then we went outside and looked at his trapping method.

B.J. Compton hunts hogs with a .357 pistol at night now as allowed by the SCDNR regulations. As night falls the woods become alive with the sound of squealing hogs and Compton and friends are in their tree stands just waiting to cut on their lights. They use trail cams and feeders in order to stake out likely areas to hunt, and this hunt took place in Richland County near the Congaree River Swamp.

Bad to the Bone!
Does anyone know a good way to bait hogs and keep them coming back in? I dont use feeders , and dumping corn on the ground they just eat it all over night.

Joined a club this year in Chester SC. We got hogs bad! I got an 83 lb sow and the wife got a 133 lb boar (she still aint let me live that down) Took a friend the other day and he got a nice boar. I shot a boar with my bow at 55yds, think I just made him mad, didn't get good penetration. Any suggestions or tips on baiting and hunting them would be greatly appreciated.

As the end of hunting season approaches with waterfowl hunting ending in the next few weeks in South Carolina get out there and get rid of some hogs which are a huge nuisance in many areas of the state! Trapping is a very effective method for those piggies that only come out at night.

Lewis Howard of Mount Pleasant,SC holds on to a BEAST of hog that was taken by his son Matthew. The hog must have been almost 400 Lbs! Look at the width of the shoulder on that MONSTER! Pernell's Taxidermy did a phenomenal job of mounting the hog, it's nose looks like it is wet and when you look at it, it makes you want to run the other way!! .
