Buck harvest up, overall deer harvest down only slightly in 2015 season, SCDNR reports

Despite being plagued with an historic rain event and unusually warm weather late in the year, South Carolina deer hunters harvested more bucks during the 2015 season than the previous year. Overall harvest numbers were down, but not as much as many thought possible because of poor hunting conditions.

York County hunter arrows record book, 7-bearded gobbler

Lee Blackmon from York took a day off work to go turkey hunting on April 14, and killed the gobbler of a lifetime that is headed for the NWTF record books. His 7-bearded, 20.4-pound bird scored 168.4 (atypical) by two NWTF scorers. And he killed it with a bow and arrow.
