There's no such thing as Canadian geese

That big black and white goose is a favorite among waterfowl hunters, but many don’t seem to know they aren’t called Canadian geese. This is probably one of the most commonly mistaken words among hunters, and it makes sense why. It’s a goose, it’s from Canada, so it makes sense to call them Canadian geese! But, their proper name is actually Canada geese. There’s no such thing as Canadian geese.

Deer hunting bill fails in House of Representatives

Bill S 454, which passed the Senate last March, failed to pass the House of Representatives last week. The bill, which proposed major changes in South Carolina’s deer hunting regulations, has now been revised and passed by the House sub-committee. It will be voted on again at a later date.

Myrtle Beach hunter scores in Bag-A-Buck contest

Kolby Grindstaff of Myrtle Beach said the 2015 deer season was one for the books for him.

“I killed three nice bucks; I ‘ve never had a season like this before, and I’m sure I never will again, but it was worth it,” said Grindstaff, a 23-year-old concrete finisher.
